Suppose Design Office :: House in Fukuyama, Hiroshima
Beautifully crafted and delivered piece of Modern Architecture. The three storey concrete residence is situated below street level, but appears to be emerging from a hillside, in Hiroshima. One of the many calculated features of the house are its two tower stairwells – the entrances to the building, located on the rooftop (not seen above). The Hiroshima based Japanese Suppose Design Office also has an office in Tokyo. Creator & Director of Suppose Design Office Makoto Tanijiri and I seem to be on the same wave length as we believe that it’s important to keep looking for something new.
He describes his work as ::
“A chance to realize fresh ideas about buildings and relationships of all interactive elements.”
I find his architecture simple but robust, as an Architecture graduate and young aspiring designer myself I take grave steps to absorb and counter react with my environment and so far this has proven to be worthwhile. Everything has a cause and effect, and from what I gather about his portfolio of work, he has realised that working with and not against the environment, produces art so close to nature the walls almost appear to breathe.
This house is just one example of many great designs.
