ISSHO Architects :: KMM3 APARTMENT, Tokyo
I was fortunate enough to work for ISSHO Architects at the beginning of 2009 as an intern. So I had first had experience of their work ethic and ideas behind this creative art.
Jun Vera & Tomohisa Miyauchi co-founded ISSHO Architects in 2002 and so far their projects be it buildings, interiors or environmental spaces represent a new age of architects born in the 70s .
This particular structure consists of 9 apartments located in Tokyo (maybe I need to have a look as I’m thinking of moving of my oh so comfortable surroundings in seijo). Quote ::
“By introducing an intermediary space at a window between inside and outside, its design redefines an experience of living in a typical low-rise housing in a highly dense area of Tokyo, where scenery from room and distance among buildings are often not pleasant. The intermediary space has variation in depth could diffuse a sense of distance between interior and outdoor, thereby an occupant comfort is enriched…”
Although I am still undecided about my desired career path…I’m always intrigued by the young designers of today.
